During the five days of Cersaie 2017, the Italian and international tiling world will converge on Tiling Town, located in Area 49 close to the Piazza Costituzione entrance to the Bologna Exhibition Centre.

For its 6th edition, Tiling Town features five work-in-progress areas hosting tiling demonstrations focusing on the classic issues of the profession (flatness, substrate preparation, back-buttering, or perfect application of adhesive to the back of both the tile and the substrate, façades and floating floors), along with another area devoted to the installation of large-format slabs and panels. This area will also host the technical training seminar for designers, architects, engineers and surveyors entitled Large-size tiles. Design, maintenance and installation, which will be held from Monday 25 to Thursday 28 September from 1.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. and on Friday 29 September from 10.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. The seminars will consist of two hours of theory lessons and two hours of practice in the installation workshop.

In keeping with the international character of Cersaie, Tiling Town looks beyond the borders of Italy, hosting a variety of official and professional meetings including those with the Federation of European Tile Fixers (EUF) and its USA counterpart, the NTCA.

Another major event will be a seminar on insurance policies for tile layers and retailers to be held on Tuesday 26 September at 11.00 a.m. and the Annual Meeting of Site Technicians and Showroom Technicians on Thursday 28 September, also at 11.00 a.m.

A large space inside Area 49 will be occupied by Assoposa (the National Association of Tile Laying Companies and Technicians), whose master tile layers will demonstrate how to install large-size tiles, thin tiles and interior and exterior tiles at events open to all visitors to Cersaie.

The Tiling Town exhibit also features a large and visually striking “sphere” designed by architect Valentino Scaccabarozzi representing the Earth divided into segments where specific ceramic products will be installed with the symbols of the four elements, earth, water, fire and air, the constituent components of ceramic.
