Millennium Park is one of the latest residential projects to have been undertaken in Moscow with the aim of further elevating the city’s status as an international metropolis. Occupying a 300 hectare site on the outskirts of the capital and within easy reach of the Novorizhskoye highway, the development won an outstanding residential construction award in the FIABCI (International Real Estate Federation) competition, the only such project in Moscow to have garnered international recognition. The development boasts theme parks, cycle paths, ponds with beaches and restaurants, as well as long canals dotted with elegant pavilions where walkers can sit and rest. It is also home to luxury villas built for a cosmopolitan elite in a location where the wellbeing of inhabitants its assured by the harmonious dialogue between nature and the built environment. The 250 villas located in the park are individually designed and customised by the client and undergo careful assessment by a coordinating committee to ensure that they observe the general aesthetics of the village.
In this extraordinary location, Elena Ivanova and Luche Mesto, architects specialising in the design and construction of fully furnished luxury villas, designed a spectacular two-storey private home with intricate forms that stand out against the landscape and large windows offering views of the surrounding greenery. The elegance and contemporary luxury of the architectural project is underscored by the ceramic tile collections from Fap Ceramiche, the company that – to ensure visual continuity – was chosen as the sole supplier of the floor and wall coverings in both the exteriors and interiors. The Maku stone-effect porcelain tile collection defines the various areas through an alternation of sizes and colours: Out Dark with Micromosaic decorations for the walkways, Grey for the barbecue area.
Formal essentiality is also the hallmark of the interiors, which are generously sized and furnished with just a few carefully chosen items, as though to enhance the visibility of the tiles chosen from Fap’s more textural lines. The aesthetic role of the ceramic tiles is even more evident in the bathrooms, which are customised with different motifs to give each room its own unique identity. The black, white and beige hexagons of the Firenze collection create a traditional atmosphere, while the Round Mosaic from the Boston series coupled with the iridescent minimalism of the Lumina collection gives the bathroom a more metropolitan feel. But perhaps the most striking effect of all is created by the Roma Diamond Mosaico Spinato marble-effect tiles used in the guest bathroom, where the highly polished finish combined with the herringbone installation pattern in alternating light and dark shades makes for a truly remarkable ambience. And in the spa, the choice of Roma Grafite for the walls and Maku Macromosaico Anticato Grey for the floor creates an overall sensation of composure and harmony that is ideal for total relaxation.
