ATLAS CONCORDE
2017
Located in the historic centre of Göppingen, a small town 40 km from Stuttgart, this hotel stands out for its distinctive blend of styles, art and design. In the interior design project created by renowned Stuttgart-based firm DFROST, the fifties- and sixties-inspired aesthetic coexists harmoniously with a 21st-century hi-tech culture.
The hotel’s reticular layout is reminiscent of the model railway tracks produced by the company Märklin, founded in Göppingen in 1859 and for many years the world’s leading model railway manufacturer. Strong ties to the local area are indeed one of the key design elements of this hotel chain, which strives to convey excellence in art and design in each of its locations. High standards and attention to design and construction details help to create a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere.
The room layout dictated by the need for privacy and flexibility is combined with the concept of an open lobby together with living areas complete with large tables and more secluded areas for business meetings and a library where guests can read or work. Alongside the living and work/study spaces, the hotel also offers a latest-generation conference room which maintains a retro style and meticulously crafted details. The table and wallpaper were specially created for the Arthotel ANA chain and are inspired by its octagonally shaped logo.
A combination of a unique design and a strong sense of homecoming are the key elements that define the experience offered by the new hotel.
An advanced system of electronic and home automation technologies (extensive connectivity, high-quality integrated lighting in all spaces, numerous USB charging ports) ensures that guests will enjoy a very pleasant and comfortable stay, however long or short it is.
For the reception and bathroom floors, DFROST opted for Italian-made porcelain tile collections from Atlas Concorde in the unique Dwell and Block finishes.
Chosen in the Smoke colour version, the concrete effect porcelain surfaces from the Dwell collection reflect the urban, material character of matt trowelled concrete and reproduce its unique colours and irregular finish. A light and skilfully created surface micro-texture creates a realistic manual application effect. This effect fits in perfectly with the astonishing ceiling grid, a unique lighting concept that gives an original metropolitan look to the reception and bar areas.
The bathrooms in the new Momentum Arthotel ANA hotel stand out for their use of Block panels from the Atlas Concorde Solution range.
All the appeal of natural stone is recreated in a 20 millimetre thickness to guarantee strength and ease of installation in all spaces, while the natural finish enhanced by a delicate glitter effect lends continuity to potential indoor and outdoor applications.
