Backlit mosaic: tiles made of light
Used as a covering material since the dawn of architecture, the mosaic is still going as strong as ever.
SICIS, known worldwide for its glass mosaics’ very high production quality and the innovations introduced over the years to improve the installation technique and duration over time, continues to develop new solutions thanks to the neverending work of research and development which is part of the company’s DNA.
After introducing on the market the transparent and semitransparent mosaic (Waterglass and Glimmer collections), SICIS has used these particular tesserae to produce what is an absolute novelty in the sector: the backlit mosaic. Thanks to particular colourless silicone-based adhesives and a special fibre mesh specifically invented, the mosaic can be easily laid on backlit surfaces (such as LED panels), ensuring perfect transparency and maximum detachment resistance.
From here, a proper collection of backlit mosaic was born, which extends the proposal from the simple solid coloured mosaic to the panels decorated in artistic mosaic, combining the mastery of SICIS mosaic art with the magic of light. Walls, floors, doors, partitions, furniture and stairs dress in psychedelic colours that come to life in the dark.
Here SICIS once again redefines the concept of mosaic, writing a new chapter in the history of this millenary material, which bears its name.
