Plinio by Ceramica Cielo wins the 2021 Red Dot Design Award
Ceramica Cielo once again confirms its role as a major player on the international design scene and wins the coveted “Red Dot: 2021 Product Design” award, the most authoritative recognition in the sector awarded to products that stand out for their extraordinary quality and design innovation.
The jury, made up of 50 authoritative international representatives from the world of design and architecture at a global level, was won over by Plinio, the minimalist and hyper-graphic washbasin capable of expressing contemporary creativity – designed by Andrea Parisio and Giuseppe Pezzano – chosen from thousands of projects from all over the world. With the purity of its geometries, Plinio is an example of a perfect balance of rigorous proportions in harmony with the always winning concept of functionality.
The stylistic feature of this model is the essential beauty and generosity of its forms capable of creating unique atmospheres and suggestions. The main element is always the ceramic available in a rich palette of matt colours or in the exclusive glossy nuances inspired by nature of Acque di Cielo. The large washbasin with practical countertop, available in three sizes (85 x 46cms, 115 x 46 cm and 140 x 46 x 16 cm) to adapt to any space even with a reduced footprint and available in the exclusive shades of Terre and Acque di Cielo, is supported by a refined extra slim structure, with a light yet rigorous design, available in both metal and solid wood. Precious, sophisticated with handcrafted details – such as the leather baskets – enrich the project and confirm the company’s ability to create customised products capable of decorating environments, always combining functionality and style.
A trendsetter in the world of living, Ceramica Cielo stands out for its exceptional ability to work a noble material such as ceramics, exploring its potential and creating solutions that suggest a new interpretation of the bathroom as a place dedicated to relaxation and well-being.
Achieving this award confirms Ceramica Cielo’s role as a trendsetter, a spokesperson throughout the world for the best handmade in Italy production tradition. The award ceremony will be held during the Red Dot Design Week from the 21st to the 25th of June in Essen, Germany, the award’s home country, in the presence of important representatives from the world of architecture, industry and the media. The winning products will also be exhibited at the Red Dot Design Museum.
