Situated in the heart of Sicily, a land renowned for its ubiquitous citrus groves, sky-blue sea and architectural heritage, Sicilia’s bar-restaurants are an example of a restaurant service that combines traditional food and wine culture with street food and the delights of shopping. With this innovative formula, which has been highly successful thanks to its strongly eclectic character, Sicilia’s bar-restaurants have opened in the Sicilia Outlet Village in Agira, just outside Enna, and inside Catania airport. They express the identity of the Sicilian culinary tradition by serving authentic dishes in a welcoming ambience with a retro charm and an eye on contemporary street food trends. Their aim is to reproduce the characteristics of this land in every detail so that customers can live a memorable Sicilian lifestyle experience. They offer an invitation to discover the beauty of this wonderful island, lapped by the waters of the Mediterranean Sea and described in Verga’s most celebrated novels that have made Italian literary history. Sicilia’s bar-restaurants are an ode to the pleasure of food, to which they give the utmost expression, as well as a commitment to fostering the quality and ancient identity of this land, with its mix of sweet and savoury flavours.
To add even more originality to this art of hospitality, the design of Sicilia’s outlets is a fusion of contemporary architectural trends and vintage. They are large and spacious, and their tasteful decor is based on a choice of materials which has been an invaluable ally in preserving the aura of Sicilian identity that they aim to convey. The tiles used for the flooring are from the Terra collection, manufactured by Fap Ceramiche. Their chromatic characteristics evoke the look of the natural and plain materials employed in traditional rural buildings. The same attention to detail is clear from the choice of wall tiling featuring Grey Decò, 60×60 cm, Silk finish tiles, also from the Terra collection. The stunning decor revisits the architectural techniques of the past, when the traditional cementine tiles were used as a construction material.
Sicilia’s outlets embrace a modern idea of catering that responds to the needs of customers wishing to have a quick but high quality meal or who decide to stop by the gourmet shopping area and look for a delicacy to take with them. They represent the crossroads of peoples who inhabited this Mediterranean island in ancient times and created food and wine traditions that have become famous throughout the world. They provide the ideal place for its guests to discover the genuine flavours of the island in an experience that will remain imprinted in their memory forever.
