In the wonderful setting of the island of Elba, time flows by among the scents of the luxuriant vegetation, the crystal blue seascapes and the sandy beaches that make this spot a veritable earthly paradise, with its wealth of good food and the truly remarkable hospitality of its people. We are in Portoferraio, the island’s main town, which offers an enchanting view to visitors approaching from the sea, featuring stunning fortresses built by the Medici family. The magical beauty of Portoferraio’s rich historical heritage is matched by its excellence in the art of hospitality, for which it has a worldwide reputation. This part of the island is the setting of the Hotel Airone, an establishment designed in a modern and contemporary style offering its guests the greatest care and attention to make their stay an unforgettable experience.
Year after year, an international clientele chooses to stay at the Hotel Airone, set in the greenery of its magnificent park-like garden filled with palm trees, maritime pines and eucalyptus trees, its luxuriant grounds stretching all the way to the sea opposite the Medici fortress in Portoferraio.
The hotel accommodation consists of 85 rooms whose modern design is beautifully complemented by colour tones and furnishings that have been especially selected to create relaxing ambiences. A great deal of care has gone into the choice of finishings which give the structure a distinctive and unique character. Inside, the hotel offers every kind of convenience and a full range of services, while the outside features a park-like garden thick with tall trees typical of the Mediterranean maquis.
Right in the middle of this emerald-green vegetation the hotel owner has built a wonderful restaurant serving top quality food to satisfy even the most demanding customers. The external veranda extending towards the greenery features an elegant and refined choice of surface covering materials. The sublime fusion between nature and hospitality architecture is epitomized by the raised floor, designed to fit in perfectly with the setting thanks to the natural and essential look of Pietra Valmalenco porcelain tiles, manufactured by Coem. The attractive hues of this material give an elegant feel to the whole structure.
An important role in creating the magic atmosphere permeating the Hotel Airone is the subtle selection of materials, notably the wood-effect stoneware from the Habita collection, manufactured by Coem, used for the walkway around the bungalow area, which blends perfectly with the surrounding park. When exposed to the sunlight during the daytime, the natural effect of the materials is further enhanced, making the walkway look even more harmonious.
The hotel complex is conceived with the goal of meeting the needs of visitors wishing to spend a holiday on the island of Elba to savour its scents, colours and charming landscape. It is the perfect choice for a journey to discover the traditions and history of Portoferraio, the city where Napoleon Bonaparte stayed during his exile and which is now a prime example of excellence in the art of hospitality.
