A contemporary home in London

CAESAR
2020
This house, located in a residential area on the outskirts of London, retains a number of traditional architectural and furnishing details without conforming to the classic British building style. The British capital, which hosts the London Design Festival every autumn, is a major world hub of trend-setting design renowned for its new creative frontiers, emerging neighbourhoods and world-famous architecture.
Surrounded by private green spaces, this large house stands out for its contemporary interiors that combine the latest trends with natural and classical elements and uses materials that guarantee the highest levels of aesthetics and efficiency.
The home’s contemporary style is reflected in the simple design of the large garden-view windows, some of which extend from floor to ceiling, and the porcelain floor tiles used in place of the traditional parquet and carpets and the spacious open-plan kitchen and dining area.
The choice of the Arthis and Anima porcelain tile collections from Caesar fully met the construction and stylistic needs of this residential project. The Arthis collection proved a particularly effective choice, a wood-look surface of extraordinary beauty that elevates natural materials to pure craftsmanship and conveys a sensation of warmth and elegance. The powerful, oil-impregnated oak look of the Oleum brown colour version chosen for the floors creates a welcoming, natural atmosphere in perfect harmony with the mood of the interior design with its warm, reassuring tones and diffuse lighting.
The natural, handcrafted look of wood is balanced by the marble-effect ceramic surfaces of the Anima series. The collection reproduces a selection of the finest varieties of marble in sizes and colours that faithfully match those of the original natural stone.
The two colours Nero Atlante and Bianco Alpino were used to dramatic effect on the floors in the connecting spaces linking the different areas of the home. Their contrasting colours create a pleasant, harmonious chequerboard pattern that emphasises the unique vein effect of each variety of marble and transforms the natural look of stone into a contemporary design element. This decorative project stands out for its refined elegance and for the classic contrast between black and white in interiors that make extensive use of total white to brighten up walls, doors and furnishings.
