Torri del Benaco is one of the most scenic locations on the eastern coast of Lake Garda. Not far from Verona, the town retains its mediaeval atmosphere with picturesque narrow streets and historic buildings such as the imposing Scaligero Castle and palaces dating from the times of the Venetian Republic. The town is dominated by the intense colours of the lake, which has never failed to charm visitors since the arrival of the first illustrious tourist and promoter Wolfgang Goethe in 1786. Known to the Romans as lake Benacus and extolled by poets ever since Catullus, Garda is the largest and most distinctive of the pre-alpine lakes, with its unmistakeable blue water and varied local scenery, where rocks and sheer walls shelter delightful harbours.
In this outstanding historic and natural setting, close to one of the most beautiful beaches in the area and immersed in a lush garden with pines and cypress trees, stands the Hotel Baia dei Pini, a stylish oasis of relaxation recently renovated by the owners in a project based on soft, understated elegance.
The structure consists of a main house and an old villa, both overlooking the lush garden with its splendid swimming pool and gazebo.
The old villa, a building whose original structure dates back to the early twentieth century, has undergone a particularly interesting renovation project that maintained the original visible elements of wood beams in the guest rooms and the stone on the external facade. The rooms are decorated with warmth and sophistication and appear to echo the tranquillity of the surrounding landscape with their soft, suffused lighting, shades and colours reminiscent of gold, wood and iron. Likewise, the floors are highly functional while enhancing the elegance and hospitality of the spaces. Chosen from Ceramiche Keope’s Neowood collection, the porcelain planks achieve a splendid wood effect that fits perfectly with the context and brings out the natural colours. In particular, the dark Neoblack shade creates a highly effective play of colour that enhances the luminosity of the furnishings and ceiling beams, creating a pleasant contrast with the colours of the exteriors visible through the French windows. The same floor coverings are used in the elegant suites and on the staircase in the old villa, which following refurbishment now displays a splendid combination of aesthetics and practicality. The strongly contemporary qualities of the materials and furnishings blend with and enhance the early twentieth century atmosphere.
