Florim joins Altagamma Foundation

A taste for the beautiful, cultural heritage and a strong identity are just some of the qualities shared by Florim and Altagamma, the Foundation which since 1992 has brought together the ambassadors of the Italian lifestyle in the world. A common vision which has enabled Florim to be welcomed in as a new member of the Foundation.

The Foundation gathers together the cream of the Italian luxury goods industry, a market segment that continues to grow all over the world and in which Made in Italy is one of the leading protagonists. Altagamma unites the most prestigious brands in the fashion, design, jewellery, food, hospitality, transport and nautical sectors. Over 110 businesses which together represent a font of typically Italian stylistic and creative excellence.

The mission of the Foundation is to contribute to the growth and competitiveness of the businesses in the Italian cultural and creative industry through different areas of activity, from business development to institutional relations, from research to promotion, at the same time developing a broad system of relations that constitutes the ecosystem of the Italian cultural and creative industry.

“We are proud and honoured to be able to support the prestigious Altagamma Foundation and to work with internationally-renowned businesses – united by their strong collaborative spirit – to promote the excellence, originality and style of the Made in Italy brand across the world.” – explains Claudio Lucchese, Chairman of the Florim Group.

Boasting a unique personality synonymous with talent, innovation, passion, a taste for the beautiful and an eye for detail, Florim takes its place alongside the other members of Altagamma. The company (the first ceramic business to become a Benefit Corporation and until now the only one with B Corp certification) will also be able to make a tangible contribution in the area of sustainability – one of the cornerstones of the Foundation’s strategic plan for the 2020-2022 three-year period.

“As one of the leaders of the Italian and international ceramic industry, we are delighted to welcome Florim to Altagamma, whose membership has now reached 113 businesses for the first time. The arrival of Florim expands and enhances the prestige of our panel of Italian design companies, its qualities the absolute epitome of our luxury goods industry: strong local roots, incredible manufacturing quality and a capacity for innovation that make it a leading player in the ceramics sector. Its focus on sustainability and B Corp certification are additional distinctive elements that align Florim with the strategic goals of the Foundation”, added Stefania Lazzaroni, General Manager of Altagamma.

The Italian luxury goods industry is worth around €126 billion (approx. 10% of the global market), generates around 50% of its revenues from exports and employs approx. 1.922 million direct and indirect workers. (sources: Altagamma, SDA Bocconi, Bain&Company).
