Designed by Benedetta Tagliabue – EMBT, Ceramiche Ragno’s new flagship showroom in Milan looks out through large arched windows onto Via Marco Polo in the iconic Porta Nuova district.
Like a kaleidoscope of colours, patterns and designs that tell the fascinating story of Ragno’s technical and artisanal skills and explore the expressive potential of ceramics, this 400-square-metre space offers architects and the general public a highly innovative showcase of ceramic and porcelain tile collections, proposing exclusive combinations of the various surfaces in the range.
“The idea of using large spider’s web-like structures to display the Ragno collections came to us from the history of the company, whose first trademark depicted a stylised spider,” explains Benedetta Tagliabue. The floor is the other interesting aspect of the project and consists of a single large mosaic, a polychrome artwork that dialogues with the collections suspended from the wooden structures.
“The new Milanese showroom presents our products in a fascinating and evocative light, emphasising the continuous evolution of our research activities and ceramic products,” comments CEO Mauro Vandini. “With this new opening we aim to consolidate the Ragno brand’s position within the design community and make this showroom a new point of reference for all our customers.”
