The Adriatic Sea, with its colours and aromas, breaks softly against the long golden beaches of Jesolo. This seaside town is famous for its ease of access to Venice and for its hospitality, where even a brief stay can be a memorable experience. Set on a coastline which mixes beaches with lagoons, the town was once known as Equilius, an ancient city renowned as one of the founding members of the league which was to give birth to the wonderful city of Venice.
And it is in this setting of typically Italian beauty that we find the Jesolo Hotel & Spa, managed by the Falkensteiner chain, a jewel of five star hospitality. The hotel is a homage to the Art Deco architecture of Miami, as well as an ode to the glorious past of the town itself. The building, designed by American architect Richard Meier, is characterised by a light and refined modern styling. The building is part of a complex whose contemporaneity and eclectic style fully express the „streamline“ fashion made famous by Miami in the Thirties and Forties. Art Deco has recently come back into vogue, largely thanks to artists and architects who have reinterpreted the style in a contemporary vein. It is no coincidence that the interiors of the hotel were designed by Matteo Thun, one of the most internationally renowned Italian architects. The Jesolo Hotel & Spa is a true work of art among hotels, a favourite among connoisseurs of design, lifestyle and charm in hospitality. The Hotel, with its splendid view of the Adriatic, has 108 rooms and suites, 18 luxury apartments and a fantastic wellness centre.
The location stands out for its audacious colour combinations, its sophisticated play of tones and harmonies evident in every single room. The rooms are inspired by the colourful Art Deco style, characteristic of the American city, delineated by pastel colours, glass detailing and decorations that evoke life by the sea. The fabrics, furnishings and materials are all elegant and original, and the wall tiles from Ceramica Vogue are no exception. Selected by Matteo Thun and Partners in a 5×40 cm size, they feature the Vogue System Interni satin finish for the luxurious and modern bathrooms. Yellow and white alternate in refined and yet extravagant verticals, a seeming reference to Pop Art wallpaper in which creativity is synonymous with eccentricity and distinction.
The Hotel & Spa Jesolo is a fascinating world, a meeting of art, design and architecture characterised by the contemporaneity and verve of Miami Art Deco.
